Beginning your home search can feel overwhelming but it doesn't need to be. At Homeway Real Estate, we want you to understand the steps we take to make the process as easy and painless as possible. Having a great buying experience starts with the right real estate agent and with our support and guidance, you can breath easy knowing you're in good hands.
Let’s get to know each other! Once you’ve decided that it's time to finally start the buying process, you'll be eager to get going. We'll meet to determine your need, wants, likes and dislikes, which will help us create a homebuying playbook. This will help us show you homes you really want and not stress you out with home you have no interest in.
This isn't always the most fun, but it is definitely one of the most important steps. Determining your price range at the beginning will prevent you from falling in love with a home you can't afford. We’ll introduce you to our mortgage partner, who will help determine your budget. Our lender will also do a full review and tell you how much you can borrow in order to purchase a home.
Have your pay stubs, W2's and tax returns ready since you'll have to dive into this type of paperwork during this step.
Once we know your must-haves, would-likes, and budget the fun can begin. Not only will we attend open houses but we'll schedule private showings of homes that really stood out. During this time, we'll also be sending you listings as soon as they hit the market to ensure we find you the perfect home.
Once you've found your dream home, you’re ready to make an offer. We will present a written offer to the seller. Hopefully, our strategic offer will result in acceptance right away however, that's not always the case. The seller could come back to us with a counter offer, or reject your initial offer completely. We’ll walk you through how to handle any of these if they come up.
The sellers accepted your offer, now it's time to grab the keys and move in, right? Wrong. The home has to go through appraisal and inspection. The appraisal guarantees the price of the home matches its condition while the inspection makes sure everything in the home is functioning properly and there are no major issues inside. These are the last steps before the shiny keys to your home are placed in your hand... for good!
It’s finally time to close on your home! This process includes going through all of the final paperwork and signing your name (a lot!). Don't forget to bring your down payment and all of the paperwork you’ve collected during the process. Congratulations, you are officially a homeowner!
